Murder Case - Robert Simmons
Complainant: Jay Fornelli
Victim: Identified as Robert Simmons in May 2014
Estimated time of death: at least 12-18 months prior to being recovered.
Gender and Ethnic Affinity: Evaluations by a forensic anthropologist suggested the remains shared both classifications as male or female. It was noted that it was most likely a male but a female has not been ruled out. It was also stated tha the skeletal remains were possibly African or Indian.
Since 2010, I have been working this case. During this time, four Missing Persons who are listed on NAMUS (a nation-wide missing or endangered person database) have been excluded as the victim in this case. Those four people were Larry Don Madden, Antonio Taylor, Jarrod Green, and Matthew Pentagrast. I have 12 more names that I am requesting to have DNA comparisons on. Those 12 are from surrounding states.
In May 2014, Medical Examiner Chris Edwards whom I have been working with to get this person identified contacted the White County Sheriff's Department. Chris Edwards advised that the skeletal remains had been identified as Robert Simmons who was a missing person out of Augusta, Arkansas.
Robert Simmons was a resident in Augusta where his family still resdies. I have met with his sister, brother and mother who all have questions that need to be answered. We are asking for your help to give this family closure by providing information on the events that took place and lead to Robert Simmons's death.
